Australian agricultural innovation has helped the sector become more profitable and productive, improve sustainability, and achieve social outcomes. Today, our agricultural sector faces unprecedented change, including climate and water related risks, shifts in consumer preferences and rapid digitisation. To ensure that we have the best system possible, one that is optimised for the future and delivers beneficial outcomes for every Australian, the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (“the Department”) commissioned EY in September 2018 to develop a shared vision for the future of the Australian agricultural innovation system.
